Organization:
- 30 x 30 diamond area set up as shown
- 10/12 players set up as shown
- 1 ball (additional on outside)
Instructions:
- Players are assigned a starting cone where they wait to receive pass
- Players are free to pass ball to any team mate on a cone & make a combination
- Encourage players to explore various combination moves - be creative!
- Give some examples (A) Overlap/3rd Man & (B) Give-Go/Wall Pass
- After making pass/combination encourage players to fill any gaps at cones - be aware!
Coaching Points:
- Make a connection with team mate; are they ready to receive ball? eye contact & communication
- Speed of play; pass, movement, support & combination
- Weight & accuracy of pass
- Angle of support
- Awareness of Space & Surroundings
Progressions:
P - Introduce a second ball; can team keep both balls in play?

Instructions:
- Attacking team aim to score point by running the ball over opposite end line in a 2v1
- Attacker (A) triggers 1st pass (B) with movement into the area
- Attacker (B) plays square pass to team mate who immediately plays pass into Attacker (A)
- As square pass is played Defender (C) enters the area & looks to win ball
- Attacker (A) sets pass back for Attacker (B) who then both look to combine & beat Defender (C)
- After each attack players rotate positions & roles
- Next Attacker enters from other side

- Weight & accuracy of pass
- Speed of play; pass, movement, support & combination
- Make a connection with team mate; are they ready to receive ball? eye contact & communication
- Angle of movement & body shape to receive
- Awareness of Space & Surroundings; check shoulder - snapshot Defenders approach/pressure

Progressions:
P - Defender enters after 1st pass (B)
P - Defender scores point by dribbling ball over Attackers endline
P - Attackers have 10 secs to score!

Instructions:
- Same setup & function as previous activity
- Attackers now aim to score in mini goals in a 2v2
- Once Attacking team crosses 1/2 way mark (cones) 2nd Defender enters area
- Play until goal has been scored or ball goes out of play
- After each attack players rotate positions & roles

Progressions:
P - Once Attackers cross 1/2 way line third Attacker (E) can enter defensive 1/2 to create a 3v2. Attacker (E) must stay in defensive 1/2 - acts like holding midfielder - two touch maximum.

- 35 x 25 yard area set up as shown
- 10 players (4 Attackers, 4 Defenders, 2 Neutrals) set up as shown
- 1 ball (Additional around the outside)
Instructions:
- Teams aim to score in assigned mini goals. Game is directional
- 4v4 Mini Game with 2 neutral players on the outside who work whole sideline
- Attacking team can use neutral players at any time to combine who must play two touch
- Neutral players can enter game if used in Attacking 1/2 to create a 5v4 overload
- When attack play breaks down they must return to the outside
- After set time rotate neutral players

- Timing & execution of combinations

Progressions:

- 4/5 Gates made with cones/markers
- 2 Mini Goals
- 10 players (4 Attackers, 4 Defenders & 2 Support Players) set up as shown
- 1 ball (additional around the outside)
Instructions:
- Teams play 4v4 possession game in Zone A
- 1 player from each team in Zone B
- Team in possession aim to pass ball to team mate through gate (Zone A) to trigger attack
- Player who receives pass through gate can now dribble into Zone B
- Once in Zone B attacker can use fellow team mate tocombine & score in either mini goal (2v1)
- If Defender wins balls they aim to pass to team mate in Zone A
- After each attack, the attacker from Zone A would swap with support player from Zone B
- Game always restarts in Zone A
Coaching Points:
- Circulate possession - be patient & create attacking opportunty
- Awareness of Space & Surroundings; check shoulder - snapshot Defenders approach/pressure
- Attack at speed from Zone A to B
- Timing & execution of combinations. Do you need to combine? Use team mate as a decoy?
Progressions:
P - Must be a through pass for Attacker into Zone B. Cannot dribble into Zone B
P - 1 Defender can track Attacker into Zone B to create a 2v2
P - Attacking team in Zone A must pass through 2 gates before attacking Zone B
