Dynamic Stretches
1. Legs apart, bounce L, C, R (5x)
2. Calves 1, 2, 3 switch (2x each leg)
3. Knee to chest into Figure 4 with footwork in between (2x each)
4. Quad strech with footwork in between (2x each)
5. Speed skater with footwork in between (2x each)
6. Spiderman/Rollback (4x each)
7. Reverse RDL + Reverse lunge + Overhead reach (4x each)
8. Open/Close the Gate (4x each)
9. Lateral lunge (2x each)
10. Squat Jumps (4x each)

Objective: improve pressing skills.
Organization: 10x10 grid with mannequins at each end.
Instructions: players press the person across from them while ball is traveling.
Variations: (1) Players pass right and go left; (2) go either way.
Key Coaching Points:
1. Pressure while the ball is traveling;
2. Anticipate where you will need to pressure.

Objective: improve movement of back line and goalkeeper to take the ground.
Set-up: 10v8 on full field. Balls set up on the edge of the midfield third for the blue team. Two counter goals in same location.
Instructions: blue team starts with the ball and tries to score a goal. If red team wins it they try to score in counter goals. After any goal, shot, ball out of bounds etc...blue team must run back to get a new ball. Red team must take the ground.
Key Coaching Points:
1. Taking the ground with speed to compact the space;
2. Goalkeeper communicating and staying connected;
3. Read the game when to step, drop, slide, sideways on etc...

Objective: improve pressing coordination between entire team.
Organization: field is divided into 4 zones. Teams play 11v11.
Instructions: focus on one team as the defending team. All 10 players must occupy a max of two of the 4 zones.
Key Coaching Points:
1. Keeping all 11 players including the goalkeeper connected for maximum pressing.
2. Pressing triggers - bouncing ball, body position, disorganized, win it back in 6 seconds or less;
3. Defending from the front. Movement of the 7,9,11.
Transitional Rondo (10 mins)
Objective: improve speed of transition from when WE have the ball to when THEY have the ball.
Set-Up: Play 8v2 rondo. 10x10 grid. Players are in partners. Each set of partners wears a different color vest. When the player or their parner lose the ball both must go into the middle and try to press and win the ball back right away.
Coaching Points:
1. immediate transition;
2. communicate regarding the pressure on the ball;
3. intensity in defending.
