Pressing Session / Progression 2: 4v4+5 (20mins)
Drill:
- Players with the ball will work in connecting inside the grid.
- The team of 5 are neutrals.
- Players with the ball on the inside may play with the neutrals.
Coaching Points/Focus:
- Considering that this session is based on pressing, make sure that the defensive team is continuously pressing and making it difficult for the receiving players to get a ball.
- Defending players make press the outside neutral players but cannot step outside
- Scanning
- Knowing when to press
- Communication

Pressing Session / Progression 3: Small-Sided Games (30 minutes)
1) 5v5 + GK
- Normal game
- Small-sided area will push players to think quickly and pass the ball.
- Constant pressing and pressure applied on the team with the ball
2)5v5 + neutrals
- in order to score team with the ball must pass to neutrals at the end
- Players without the ball should be pressing the team with the ball and make it difficult to receive the ball
- If neutrals receive, the defensive team is allowed to press the neutrals to make it difficult for them

- moving when the ball is being passed
- man-marking

Pressing Session / Final Progression: 9v9+GK (30minutes)
- Utilizing one-half of the field will allow the players to work on applying pressure on the team with the ball
- aggressive pressure to make the team with the ball lose the ball
- make it difficult for the attacking team to build up from the back and up the field

Pressing Session / Progression 1: Warm-up (10 mins)
- 1 lap run around the field
- dynamic stretches: high knees, butt-kickers, Frankensteins, scoops, side shuffles, lunges w/twist. (Captains lead)
- static stretches (we allow our players to stretch what they need after finishing group dynamics)
Set-up
- In a square grid (10x10yds) have players stand on the side of the square,
- 3 players per square grid
- 1 ball only
Drill (Touch and Move):
- Players will pass the ball to the nearest player to their left.
- Once the pass has been made that same player will move to the open side of the grid to their right,
- The cycle will continue for approximately 10 mins.
Coaching Points:
- Start with two-touch passing and receiving
- Players should receive the ball with the inside of their foot and pass the ball on the ground.
- Stay on your toes and be ready to receive the ball,
- Pace should be at a running pace of 80-90% of their max.
- Communication should be practiced.
