Aim:

INTENSITY: High ACTIVITY TIME: 3 mins REST: 1 min INTERVALS: 4
Activity:
- 1 v 1 flyers
- Divide into two team
- Players go 1 v 1. Play is directional.
- If a player attacks and scores or the ball goes over the end line. They stay on the field and defend and a new attacker comes in play. It is a transitional game.
Scoring:
- normal goal scoring rules
Coaching Points:
1) Aim - use your upper body to defend the ball - can you put your opponents off balance.
2) Close control
3) Short opposite movements to create a yard of space.
4) Balance and strength, be able to hold the defender off the ball
5) Identify the space and accelerate into it
6) How quickly can you transition from attack to defence?

Activity:
- 5 v 5 plus GKs
- Free play
- Normal FIFA rules apply
- Rotate playing positions
- No restrictions
Scoring:
- Normal scoring rule
- Can indroduce bonus points if players does a move before they score.
Coaching Points:
1) Reinforce previous coaching points made
2) Less coaching, let them play.

Fun warm up - decision making (20 mins)
INTENSITY: Moderate - high ACTIVITY TIME: 2 mins REST: 30 secs INTERVALS: 8
Activity:
1. Fun warm up:
- Foxes and hounds - each player as a pinnie as a tail can you steal someone elses tail.
- Progress to Each player has a pinnie and a ball - Can you steal someone elses and protect your own? Winner is the last player left
3. Move onto Great Escape.
- Set up as above - Yellows are attackers and black are defenders guarding their gate.
- Attackers must try get through the defenders gate by beating them with an attacking move.
- If they escape they return to the area through the orange gates.
-Rotate defenders each set
Scoring:
- Attackers = 10 points for beating defender
- Defenders = 5 points for winning ball
Coaching Points:
1) Close control
2) Use all surfaces of the foot
3) Can you out-balance the defender with various moves or fakes?
4) If you can not beat a defender use decision making and go else where.
