Prior to an upcoming game against a side who like to play out from the back, this session looks at how the Blue team can combat this strength, and even attempt to exploit it.
The objectives are to delay the team from playing out, with the end goal of forcing them to play long, or ideally, stealing the ball high up the pitch and creating goalscoring opportunities.
This session carries on from previous Function

Now in the SSG, work away from the ball, with no pressure on CB, Blue CBs must begin to drop from threat of ball in behind.

Organisation
As ball progresses forwards, As in the situation of CB carrying it out, CB must continue to slowly drop. Far CM must also drop to close distance 'between the lines'

What If? Full backs push on, CM drops deep
#11 #7 drop to follow full backs,
No pressure on the ball, so CB have dropped, which means RCM must drop to close distance between the lines.
LCM #10 have furthest forward CM covered, #9 covers deep CM, allows CB the ball, with limited options, other than opposite CB, then team shuffle across to make same shape on other side.

Organisation
What if, with full backs pushed on, CB drives out with the ball into space.
#9 must engage, if distance is too great for #9 to press, then #10 will engage, and #9 drop in to cover,
LCM drops slightly and shuffles, to prevent ball through to forward or wide player.
In the picture above, the Red CM vactes the space, the #10 therefore drops, so that the play remains in front of him, if the pass is played across.
