Outfield players have Open Body Position and First Touch forward, Quality/speed of Pace of the cross. Goalkeeper set position. Read the play and watch the ball. Communicate to defenders. Vision Decision Making

Resilience and Coping Skills:

Resilience - Set goals for the GK. Deal with the problem. Ask the GK to visualise "what great looks like" Positively re frame the mind. Can you throw into the end position 4 out of 5 times? Coach upbeat and give lots of positive feedback to the player,

Coping Skills - The functional practice takes the "Active Coping" strategy as it forces the GK to take positive action to improve by overcoming stress and applying effort. Encourage the GK to be "problem focused" targeting the cause and tackling the problem. Start the practice by building confidence by using the coaching process to get the GK to first do the basics well without the mannequins. Once the session is finished back up the session with 1-2-1 meeting, possibly video analysis.
