Warm-up (20 mins)

Organization: 12 players in the center circle. All players with a ball. 4 out of the 12 players have a pinnie in their hands.

Instructions: 4 players identified with blue pinnies attempt to tag non-pinnie players by throwing the pinnies. If pinnies hit the non-pinnie players, they are it. Must be possessing their ball when tagging non-pinnie players or else it doesn't tagging doesn't count.

Coaching Points/Questions:

head up to see all players who are it.

How can we avoid the pinnie players that are it? go faster or slower, change direction.

Athletic/Technical Development (20 mins)

Organization: 2 teams of 6 behind 6 cones spaced about 2 feet apart from one another.

Instructions: Players in front race each other zig zagging through cones and then next person in line goes relay style. Players that finish sit and first team with all players sitting wins the round.

Coaching Points/Questions:

If we want to move faster through the cones should we take soft touches or hard touches? soft touches

Main Activity (20 mins)

Organization: multiple gates set up spread out in half field. Players working in pairs with 1 shared ball.

Instructions: players communicate to move to a gate together and execute 2 passes through gate for 1 pt. and then move to next gate keeping track of points.

Coaching Points/Questions:

How can we make sure we both go to the same gate? talk to each other.

What part of the foot do we pass with to get the best accuracy? inside of the foot.

What part of the foot can we touch the ball with when receiving it to control the ball better?

Regressions/Progressions:

1 pass through gates, then opposite player dribbles around a cone and through the gates
