Method:
Degree of Difficulty in High
Two Goalkeepers. Start point for Goalkeeperis their right hand post opposite the servinbg goalkeeper with one ball. 3m apart.
1. Yellow server keeper pushesball to green keeper at head height for set catch.
Returns the ballin the same movement.
Both move inunison with fast feet to the centre for a repeat.
Move in unison to the lefthand post and repeat. Continue at each station for
six movementsbringing both keepers back to the centre of the goal.
Server dictates the fast paceof the drill.
2. The 7th movement will brings both serverand goalkeepers to the left hand post.
The server keeper will throw ball gentlyinto the angle of post and crossbar
Goalkeeper will use left hand to cushionthe ball and push back to the server in one
movement.
Both move to centre station for facecatch.
Move to right hand post. Server keeperwill throw ball gently into the angle of post and
crossbar.
Goalkeeper will use right hand to cushion the ball and push back to theserver in one
movement.
Continue with this sequence until keeperreturns to the centre of the goal after 6
different positions.
3. Server may move to 6m away. From the centre,server keeper will throw ball upper thigh
height to keepers right for soft volley return into their hands.
On lefthand post repeat but using the keepers left side.
Repeat sequence for 6 different locations.
4 Goal keeper now returns to the centre ofthe goals.
Keeper server will throw ball to headheight for header back into the arms of the keeper.
Repeat at 4 more points until goalkeeperreturns to centre of the goals.
Drill ends. Sequence should haveprovided for 4 types of movement across 22 locations on the goalline. Degree of difficulty is high as both must concentrate to move inunison.
Coaching Points:
This drill should have a good rhythm dictatedby the serving goalkeeper.
Crisp hands to catch and return in the samemovement.
Fast feet. Always lead with the outsidefoot in the flow of direction.
