Skill Intro 2 (10 mins)

Setup area as shown, 2 groups if numbers require. Sequence starts with Player A passing into Player B. B drags the ball left or right (sideways movement) and with a move (feint, stepover etc) turns the mannequin and knocks a pass into Player C. C takes a good first touch and performs a move at the mannequin (forward movement) than passes into Player A. Players follow their pass - A to B, B to C and C to A.

Looking For:

Good body position to receive the ball and set yourself for turn

Use of a feint or skill move

Attack at speed

Be positive

Skill Training (30 mins)

Set up a playing area 20 x 20. Split players in 3 groups to start the game attackers, defenders, servers. Play starts by the first server playing a pass into the first attacker. The attacker must receive the pass, attempt to turn the defender creating space to shoot on goal..

The defender attempts to win the ball from the defender and scores a point by passing back to the server. After each attack the players swap roles - defender become attacker, attackers joins the servers and server joins the defenders line.

Coaching tips:

Set body according to required turn

Observe the position of the defender

Awareness of space to turn into

Decision - no touch, 1 touch or multi-touch to turn

Technique of turn - disguise intention
