Objective: To teach players how to press high up the field to create scoring chances in the opponent's half. Press and transition to another Rondo.
Instructions: Two defenders pass into large Rondo for a 4v2. Once they win the ball, they separate and sprint to opposite small 2v1 Rondos. Rotate the groups of 3. Organize players into 4 defenders, 4 mids, 4 attackers.
Time: 4 minutes work, 30 seconds rest. Rotate groups every 5 minutes. Total time - 15-20 minutes.
Emphasis: Use sprinting and quick runs to close down the attacker. When pressing the ball, the defender goes in hard, through the ball and player. Defend in groups of 2 then defend alone.

Instructions: Emphasis is on the Blue Attackers pressing the Red Defending team during buildouts. Goalkeeper plays to any defender. When Blue wins the ball they can score on large goal. Red team scores on small sided goals. You can use one or two small sided goals. Can vary the restarts from throw-ins, goalkicks or have Blue team serve into Red team. Can make the field more narrow at first to facilitate success for Blue team, then open it up.
Time: 5 minutes work, 30 seconds rest. Total time - 20-30 minutes.
Emphasis: Use sprinting and quick runs to close down the attacker. When pressing the ball, the defender goes in hard, through the ball and player. Defend in groups of 3-4. Sprinting and closing down opponent is key. Everyone must be committed to swarming and defending the area of the ball.

Instructions: 2v1 with the emphasis on the 1 defender. Defender passes the ball into one of the two attackers. Attackers possess the ball with no restrictions. Defender goes in hard and attacks the player with the ball.
Time: 2 minutes work, 30 seconds rest. Total time - 5 minutes then rotate players.
