Physical Literacy
Organization:
Set up a 20 x 16 yard area.
Procedure:
Players move from one end of the field to the other. When coach calls a colour, players respond. If a player does a movent that the coach has not called they must take 5 steps back. First player to the opposite line gets a point.
Red: Stop
Green: Go (Dribble)
Yellow: Slow
Purple: Toe Taps
Blue: Bells
Crash: Fall down
Emphasis: Listening, following instruction, physical literacy, having fun, and being positive!

Organization:
-Area approx.10x10
-8-10 players
-Create 2 of the same grids as per diagram
Procedure:
Player A passes the ball into Player B, who controls and dribbles to try and score through either side gate (must dribble and stop the ball). Switch starting roles frequently.
Coaching Points:
- Firm pass through the grass
-Dribble at defender with speed
-Quick changes of direction/speed
-Acceleration away from defender
-Ball control through gate

3v3 or 4v4
Organization:
Players are split into teams of 3 or 4.
Procedure:
Two games going on at once on either side of the gym (dependent on space). Keep teams small to encourage more touches.
No goalies!
Emphasis:
DRIBBLE! This will be the emphasis always in small sided games until the girls have really improved their dribbling skills and have the ability to keep their head up while doing so. We want to create confident dribblers! Keep ball close to feet, head up, small touches, FUN!
Ball Mastery (15 mins)
Organization:
- All players
-Area: centre circle
Procedure:
- Begin as the girls come in for practice
- Players work in small groups from outside to inside the circle performing different ball mastery and 1v1 moves
Progressions/Variations:
-Ball Mastery - inside touches/inside-outside touches/sole rolls/toe-taps/pull-pushes
-Turns - step-ons/u-turns/hook turns/drag-back
-Moves - inside-outside cuts/fake take/circle take/pull-pushes
Coaching Points:
- Quality touches
- Using both feet
- Pace of the ball and themselves
- Good control/ small touches
