Session focused around how a team defends in groups. This includes the back 4 but also how the attackers and midfield players press and defend themselves.
Work rate from all players needs to be of an high tempo.
Also reward and praise good passing success also.

-Same set up as E1 but with the additional of goals.

Time: 20 Minutes
Set Up:
-70x45 pitch from goal to halfway.
-Place 2 mini goals on halfway line.
-Place players into 2 teams, attacking (blue), defending (red).
-Red team have a striker who is placed between the 2 mini goals.
Players:
-Red: Anna (GK), Nia & Harriet (RB), Mabli & Abi (LB), Holly, Jess, Emma, Courtney, Katie (CB), Molly & Imogen (MC), Evie (CF).
-Blue: Ellie & Eva (GK), Efa, Mila & Ffion D (MC), Connie & Ffion G (RW), Grace T & Elin (LW), Grace M & Casi (10), Charlee & Jodie (CF).
Exercise:
-Play always starts with a GK in a mini goal.
-They serve blue and attack.
-They look to combine and score in the big goal.
-Red look to defend and counter attack and score in either mini goal.
-If red win the ball their striker can be active and join the game.
-Blue team then need to press and try and win ball back.
-If ball goes dead, via a goal or out of play, game resumes from a GK in a mini goal.
-Rotate spare players on and off after each play.
-Rotate keepers around every 6 minutes.

-Half a pitch full width.
-2 even teams, red 4-2-2, blue 2-2-3-1
Players:
-Red: Anna (GK), Harriet (RB), Abi (LB), Holly & Courtney (CB), Molly & Imogen (MC), Casi and Jodie (FOR).
-Blue: Eva (GK), Jess & Emma (DEF), Mila & Efa (MC), Connie (RW), Grace T (LW), Grace M (10), Charlee (CF).
-Spare: Ellie (GK), Katie (CB), Elin T (W), Ffion G (W), Evie (CF), Ffion D (MC).
Exercise:
-Play game under normal 11v11 rules.
Key Points:
Application of the defending and pressing on both sides.

Set Up:
-30x30 grid with an additional 5x10 scoring zone on each end.
-Place a GK in each scoring zone.
-Other players in groups of 4, with blue acting as defenders in a back 4.
-Red players split into 2 groups of 4 as attacker.
-1 red group waits outside the grid.
Players:
Group 1: Ellie and Eva (GK), Harriet, Courtney, Jess, Emma, Abi (DEF). Connie, Molly, Elin, Charlee (A1), Casi, Efa, Jodie, Mila (A2).
Group 2: Anna (GK), Nia, Holly, Katie, Mabli (DEF). Ffion G, Imogen, Evie, Grace T, Grace M, Ffion D.
Exercise:
-GK in SZ 1 plays ball to red player.
-Red attack and look to play the ball to GK in SZ 2.
-Blue to team look to defend SZ 2 ands win the ball and counter attack to play ball to GK in SZ 1.
-If blue win ball red must press and try and win the ball back and attempt to score again.
-If a score or ball goes out of play, the play restarts always with GK in SZ 1.
-Every time ball goes dead or a score, red players swap on and off.
Key Points:
-Defenders: Work as a group to press the space and stop the pass into SZ 2.
-Attackers: When they lose possession, to quickly win the ball back.
