What kind of reception should I use?

Organisation
Layout bibs in areas
Coach gets name of player and seperates them to their area (Blue or White Player)
Player takes bib and starts on arrival
2 balls per square, players can pass to any colour
Use three types of receiving:
- Open reception (Right)
- Open reception (Left)
- Dummy, let ball run across body
Encourage players that they must face in a different direction to when the ball arrives.
*If 17 players put a middle player in who helps both squares (red)
** If tempo or quality is low coach can score teams (Plus points for good reception/Minus for slow/lazy passing)
Coaching points
If no pass is available players can dribble, keep the tempo
Dont stop the ball, can players use the receiving touch to buy time to find a pass

Organisation (per set)
- 3v3 in the main area area
- 2 players on the opposite sides of the area
- If 17 players, bumper player helping both squares limited to the halfway line (red)
- Players aim to reach a certain amount of passes (note the different ability level in each pitch)
- Once that amount is reached players score in goal for a point
- if the ball goes out the bumper player ishould play another ball in quickly
- rotate positions every 3-4 minutes
Coaching Points:
- emphasise open body and receiving on the correct foot
- pass/ dribble/ turn/ move away from pressure
- keep the ball moving, change the picture use end player as support

Match Practice
- Directional match practice, use the full pitch
- Bumper players from previous exercise slot into the space between pitch and goal (cannot enter pitch)
- Setup a neutral CM on halfway (if 17 players)
- Players are limited to their half apart from CM who stays on halway area until active
- Ball starts from either bumper, team tries to work the ball (ideally) through the CM (can also play direct into striker) into attacking half and finish on goal.
- Bumper players (pink) can block but not use hands if defending goal
*Encourage players to receive with an open body and on the correct foot
*Encourage CM to play with an open body / dummy to spin into the attacking half
Progression
- Finish with a normal 6v6+1 if odd number of players keep a neutral player
