The drill is a 4v3 looking at hold up play to get more people into the final 3rd.
Reds positioned behind the goals ready to defend in groups of 3.
A blue at each of the three cones and on as a CF inside the playing area. Coach will randomly play a ball into the three players on the cones so they all need to be sharp and look to get into good receiving positions. They will look to then play the ball into the CF's feet who had dropped to look for the ball. Once the CF touches the ball the defenders can come into the playing area.
All three supporting players must be inside the playing area before the CF can release the ball and play the ball back to them and start the attack. If the reds can win the ball and get it back to the coach's feet they score a point. Organize the roles themselves before they play and rotate regularly.
Look at the role of the CF holding the ball up.
Look at the role of the supporting players in relation to to the ball.
CF needs to pull across to the area the ball is played but not too wide as you take up the WMF space.
Ball goes wide then the opposite winger must work hard to get up the pitch to be the 2nd CF, CM hold to receive any ball played backwards to either shoot or play the wingers in.
Ball goes central then bot wingers get high and look to roll inside to receive the pass from the CF/CM.
Add one defender into the zone to start to make it competitive with the CF.
Add three defenders and CF can play straight back, now were looking for dynamic movement.
