Aim:
- To develop individual foot skills and sharp turns, applying them effectively in a 1 v 1 situation.

INTENSITY: Moderate-high ACTIVITY: 30-45 secs REST: 30-45 secs INTERVALS: 6 per player
Activity:
- 1 v 1 (divide into groups of 4 - see diagram)
- Attacker checks to the line and recieves a pass. The Defender comes up behind the attacker.
- The attacker must try to turn their defender and dribble the ball back to where they came from.
- If the defender wins the ball they get the ball back to the passer.
- Ensure rotations.
Scoring:
- 10 Points are rewarded when the attacker successfully turns their defender and dribbles back to where they came from.
Coaching Points:
1. Aim - use your upper body to defend the ball - can you put your opponents off balance.
2. Close control
3. Short opposite movements to create a yard of space.
4. Use your body to protect the ball and turn the defender
5. Balance and strength, be able to hold the defender off the ball
6. identify the space and accelerate into it

Activity:
- 5 v 5
- Directional to small goals (2) or use large goals and GKs
Scoring
- Normal goal scoring rule in 5 v 5
- If a player scores they select a player from the other team and go play 1 v 1 in designated area.
- Players that win the 1 v 1 station are awarded 2 bonus points for their team
Progression:
- Rotate player position every interval
Coaching Points:
1. Reinforce all previous coaching points
2. Encourage 1 v 1 dribbling and turns.
3. Can players beat their opponent 1 v 1 then look to make the pass to the next zone or score.
4. Be prepared to play under pressure
5. Less coaching, let them play.

Ball Mastery and Turns (20 mins)
INTENSITY: Moderate ACTIVITY: 3 mins REST: 30 secs INTERVALS (REPS): 6
Activity:
- Players perform different footskills through the cones - inside and outside both feet, toe taps, soccer boxes, drags.
- When players come out the cones they perform a turn infront of the tall cone and accelerate back to the start (lots of repetition).
Turns:
1. Cryuff
2. Inside Cut
3. Outside cut
4. Step-over turn
(perform all turns on both feet).
Coaching Points:
1. Close control.
2. Use all surfaces of the foot.
3. Keep your head up and use periheral vision.
4. Distance from defender to perform a successful turn
5. When performing the turn - change of direction and accelerate away.
