Ball Mastery (15 mins)

Description-

After 10 minute warm -up

Ball Mastery - Combination play - Players receive the ball in the circle and and combine passes before playing to the outside, players on the outside pass a ball around the circle at the same time

 

Technical - Receiving to combine with others - half turn, back foot, quality of pass, angle to receive, pre-scanning

 

Tactical- combination play, combining with others to play forward

Creating space to receive, movement off the ball.

 

Physical - high tempo

 

 

Psychological/Social -

good communication working together

Control-

Commitment to make space to play

Confidence to receive the ball with either foot

Concentration at all times

Passing Pattern (30 mins)

Practice Organisation:

*Two squares set up one square inside the other.

*Players stand on a pole in the middle, and everyone else on the outside.

*Player A passes the ball into Player B, he sets the ball to Player C, who plays the ball out to Player D. The is a continious practice and the pattern follows.

 

Progressions:

1. Add in a second football.

 

Learning Objectives:

1. Weight of pass.

2. Movement - check away, check in.

3. Receive the ball on your back foot.

4. Timing of movement.

5. Can you play in one touch.
