Passing & Receiving Combination Play:
INSTEAD OF CONTINOUS HAVE THE PLAYERS FINISH ON THE GOAL
Grid is 10 yards wide by 20 yards long
Player A plays across to Player B's back foot and follows pass to overlap Player B. B receives and plays to Player C and continues run to create space for the overlapping A. Player C sets a pass to Player A, who then switches the ball to either Player D or E and the drill begins again from the other side.
Coaching Points:
Receive on back foot
Movement of Player C (check to show shoulder check back foot)
Weight of pass -- set pass as opposed to switch
Timing of overlap
Progressions:
One touch and speed of play
Switching middle players on the move
After receiving the set pass from C, Player A plays a diagonal return pass to Player B in the gap, who then switches the play to either Player D or E
Have an additional ball going around the outside of the box having players show off the cone sholder -- check, receive on back foot and play (only if numbers permit -- need minimum of 13 for this)

Passing Breakout with Opposition
A plays across to B and overlaps underlaps or diaganol run in behind
B and A attack defender and makes a decision to pass or beat him
Strike on goal to finish, if defender wins the ball then one of the attackers becomes defender
Progression:
Add a second defender in a second grid, now the two attackers have to beat two defender at seperate intervals to get to goal

Overloaded Transistions
Set Up:
2 goals aprox 50' apart
2 equal teams
2 keepers
Balls at each end
2 lines either side of the net
One team will send out a player on breakaway who must shoot at the top of the 18.
After the shot the defending team will start out against the shooter and go 2 vs 1 to goal to shoot. After the shot the defending team will send out to players to join the 1 to counter 3 vs 2 to goal.
The game restarts with the opposite team starting on the breakaway.

-looking for opportunities to shoot whenever you can
Combination Play (10 mins)
Combination Play:

At least six players (ball starts at end with multiple groups) and grid about 15 yards wide by 30 yards long. First pass must go in front of Player B.
Overlap:
Player A plays across to Player B
Player B moves his first touch diagonal and forward
Player A overlaps Player B
Player B plays out to opposite end
Dribble disguise:
Player A plays across to Player B
Player B moves his first touch diagonal and forward
Player A overlaps Player B
Player B receives on outside foot and works a fake a circle or a twist to go opposite way
Player B plays out to opposite end
Reverse pass:
Player A plays across to Player B
Player B moves his first touch diagonal and forward
Player A overlaps Player B
Player B reverses ball into path of Player A
Player A plays out to end
Coaching points:
Pass in front, receive on back foot, move first touch diagonal and forward, eyes to ball to pass and receive, eyes up in between, names and eye contact before pass, weight and direction of pass, maintain width, timing of run on disguised dribble, hide laces on disguise
