Equipment : 10cones, 6-8 balls
Organization: see above diagram, 40x60 field. Divide field in half lengthwise and place 4 cones in each half marking the attacking 3rd. Place equal amount of balls at each of the starting A position cone
Objective: 3 player combination play to penetrate and shoot on goal.
Player A plays a pass to B and follows to support. B passes to C and slides upfield into opposition half. Player C plays ball back to B and makes a run into space behind the defenders (cones). Player B plays the ball into space ahead of player C's run to allow for a shooting opportunity
Progression 1:
Introduce a defender at the attacking 3rd line of cones when B receives the Ball
Progression 2:
Introduce a second defender at the attacking third line of cones
Key points:
Accurate passing with good pace.
Open up with good first touch receiving.
Timing attack run with good communication to avoid offside

Setup As Shown: 30x40. area. Create passing box 5x10 by one
endline with 4 cones. Player B start cone 8 yards from box.
Defender (C) start cone is 10 yds from box.
Activity: Keeper will play a ball out to player A. Player A will take a
touch to receive and then play a pass into the passing box. Player
B and defender C cannot leave until the ball leaves A's foot.
B's objective is to get on the end of the pass and go for goal.
C's objective is to read the pass and intercept if possible or close
down and defend if not.
If defender wins the ball can score by dribbling through the high
gate.
Coaching Points Focused on Defender C:
Read the pass
Close down quickly
Angle of run
Body shape and position (Side on, knees bent)
Patience if can't win the ball right away.
Coaching Points For Attacker:
First to the ball
positive first touch
Beat the defender with a move/turn
Accelerate out and go for goal

7v7 or 9v9 scrimmage with emphasis on combination play and passing to penetrate. Objective to gain a shot on goal.
Conditions: Each team must shoot within 6 passes or the ball gets turned over to the opposition.
Key points:
Accurate passing with good pace.
Open up away from pressure with good first touch receiving.
Timing attack run with good communication.
Look for opportunity to penetrate into space.

Warm-Up/Physical/Technical (15-20')
Players dribble/pass and move to the next cone. Last player finishes with a shot, collects the ball, goes back to start. Next player should start when the ball reaches 3rd or 4th player
Progression variation:
dribble to the cone and make very short pass
dribble few yards and then make a pass
2 touch; recieve-pass-move
Players should challenge themselves by using both feet, different passing techniques, movement before recieving, etc.
Key points:
First touch - set up your pass, in the direction you want to go
Passing - accuracy, pace, weight, head up, leading the player into space
Receiving - body postion, movement before recieving, head up, know the options ahead
Speed - speed of play, intensity, demand for the ball
Communication - talking, body shape, eye contact, signals
