Area setup is dependent on amount of players. For 5v5 or 6v6, roughly 22x22. Modify based on quality of players + amount of players

In the middle set up a square with 4 cones, roughly 7x7. This square is used in 3 different progressions

1) To begin, the aim for the team in possession is the keep the ball, with the objective of playing a ball through the square to a teammate on the other side. Rule is that no players are allowed to enter the square.

Focus for team in possession: are they able to find and create angles to receive ball through the square. If they can't find that through ball, are they able to maintain possession and look for angles elsewhere in the area. Focus for team out of possession: are they aware of their surroundings, checking for shoulder to block passing lanes as well as not allowing player on the ball with too much time, is there communication to help teammates (right shoulder, cover left etc). Are players on the other side of square trying to close space to stop receiving player getting the ball

2) The objective now is for team in possession to dribble the ball in the square successfully. Rule is that players are not allowed to be in the square unless they have successfully dribbled into it. Once they have done that, no other players are allowed to enter the square, and that player in the square must now pass the ball out of the square to continue the exercise (he will also exit the square)

Focus for team in possession: Are players able to find moments to dribble into the square, through sharp movement and dribbling, but also picking the right moments. If the moment is not there, can they maintain possession and find another avenue to dribble into square. Focus for team out of possession: Focus now is pressure on the ball carrier. Rather worrying about the through ball through the square, defending team must stop the ball carrier from dribbling into square - pressure on him is the key focus

3) For the last progression, the rule in place is that if your team has possession of the ball, one of your players must be in the square. No one from the opposite team is allowed in the square. The objective now for team in possession is to find a pass to your team mate in the middle. If your teammate in middle receives ball, no one from the opposite team is allowed to enter the square, and that player will pass the ball out to someone else on his team. The middle player will now leave the square, and the player that passed it to him will enter it. If, for example, the whites win the ball off the blues, the blue player in the middle must exit the square, and a white player must enter into the square, looking to receive a pass from his teammates

This is now combining both exercise 1 and 2 - where players need to 1) apply pressure to ball carrier and 2) be aware of surroundings, checking shoulders, communicating to teammates of stopping the through ball into the square
