Combination with midfield players pattern - 8 players.
5 passes make the pattern. Players work in 2's and make their way up the sidelines together (red movements). First pass is from a corner to furthest 'midfielder', who combines with their partner to play into path of moving (overlapping) wide player, finising with a diagonal pass to far end for next pair to play between themselves before restarting to play to furthest midfielder.
Working with movement and combination of midfielders. Timing of runs out wide (conditioning work included).
Weight of pass and timing of pass into wide players paths.

1st Touch Combination Exercise
5 passes make the pattern. Begins top right corner cone, straight ball (pass 1) along the line and follow it to 'cone 2'. Turn first touch towards cone 3 and play quickly with 2 touches (2).
Cone 3 plays first time to cone 4 (3), who plays square for a 1-2 pass with player on cone 3 (4), who finishes the pattern with a pass to cone 5 (5), dribbling back to cone 1 to begin the pattern again.
Introduce 2/3 balls for speed of play. Cone 2 player can attempt to close down pass 3 for player on cone 3.

Ball Warm Up (15 mins)
1. 1v1 face to face, score by rolling the ball through either gate right or left. Feet cannot touch the ground on opponent's side. Defender blocks path to goal and attempts to steal the ball.
2. 1v1 Player in possession shields ball from opponent. Keep ball at cone for 5 count. Once 5 count is up, escape opponent to move to either opposite red cone. Rotate each point the player in possession.
3. Rondo 6v2. Two boxes.
