-Center backs will be in the center circle with the balls pssing back and forth
-Once the coach says "play" one of the cene backs will play a ball into one of the four midfielders in their damond shape in grid A.
-The midfielders in grid A now have to connect two passes and then a third long ball out to a wide player.
-Wide playe has three touches to attack the line and get off a cross.
- Both strikers and two midfielders will be attacking the box to finish the cross.
-Grid B in the penalty box is "the zone" that we want our crosses to go through.
-Progressions-
1. A midfield player has to support the wide player when the long ball is played and play him in with a quick wall pass.
2. A striker must provide support to wide player and play him in with wall pass.
3. A striker AND midfield player provide support, the wide player plays with either one.
4. Center back plays first ball into a striker, who then plays into the midfielders who then connect two passes and then a long one out.
-Add defender in the penalty area and in zone A
-Coaching Points-
1. Reading ahead (the next play). WHO will need to provide support?
2. Attacking runs into the penalty area.
3. WHAT types of services the wide players should play and WHEN.
4. Midfielders play the way they face.

Player B plays to Player A (about 10 yards), then Player A plays back to Player B who then plays long (about 40 yards) to Player C.
Players A and B then switch spots as Players C and D do the same pattern.
-Coaching Points-
1. Quick short touches, but soft enough to set up for long ball.
2. Try driven long balls, and bent long balls.
3. Accuracy of long ball, and first touch when receiving long ball.
