Play - 5v2 Zone Game Bi Directional (25 mins)

Organizaiton - 3 attacking zones 8 by 8 an d defending zones 4 by 4. 5 players attacking, 2 players defending.

Rules - Attacking team gets a point when they reach the 2 attackers on the far side, Green players can dribble the ball into one of the open grids if they arrive before the defender (they must stay in other grid). If they score they turn and do the same in the other direction. The 2 defenders can move between two zones to block passing lines and intercept the ball and score by intercepting the ball or if they win the ball and can play two passes with their teammate.

Progression - allow players to continue to move up the field more than one grid. Give counter goals to the defenders and they can score on either goal and pass to each other.

Coaching points -

Make it big, move to be in a position to receive the ball (support at an angle). Look up and see space to dribble into. If the defender blocks the forward pass, use your skills and move the ball (pass, dribble to attract the defener (committ) and play to your teammate. Always think and act deep when possible (break lines) - body position open to be able to see the entire field.
