TECHNICAL - dribbling, passing, receiving

TACTICAL - attacking principles, defending principles

PHYSICAL - endurance, speed/quickness

PSYCHOLOGICAL - confidence, team work, communication (on and off the ball), decision making

ACT 1 - Passing Squares (15 mins)

Organization:

- Two squares adjacent to each other

- Players to work outside the square

Instructions:

- To work a passing pattern that goes round the square by adopting good supporting position

Coaching Points:

Attackers

- Left and right supporting players to come at an angle, coming close to the cone

- Two touch to allow time for the movement for supporting players

- Recieve on back foot

- Tempo of pass dependant on defender, close = quick away = slow

Defender

- Stop one passing line to break the sequence

ACT 2 - 4v4 (+1) Corner to Corner Possesion Exercise (15 mins)

Organization:

- 2v2 (+1) in the middle of the area

- Corner players to play into as targets

Instructions:

- Whoever passes into the target players rotates to become the new target player

- Netrual can't rotate with target player, if netrual player plays into the target then the target remains locked in

- OBJECTIVE: To combine and progress through the central area to the opposing target player

Coaching Points:

In Possession:

- Create angle of support & passing lanes

- Combine as the defenders draw near

- One touch if possible (Speed of play should be high)

- EMPHASIZE: being creative, movement off the ball to create combo plays

Out of Possession

- Can they win the ball back in a certian amount of time

- Press quickly while ball is rolling (HIGH PRESS)

- If they win the ball can they play into any target player as quickly as possible
