Moves of Week skill The ‘V’ Move

1. Players dribblefreely within the grid, recreating a game situation enviroment performing the the Move of Week

2. Place the right foot on the ball and roll it towards yourself with the sole of the right foot. Open up your body to the right-hand side.

3. Take the ball with the inside (or the outside) of the foot in the other direction (right) and accelerate way.

4. Make this a competition, by asking how many Moves of week the players can do in a set time.

Description

The V move is named as such because of the path the ball travels. The movement is particularly suited to beating an opponent to open up play in another direction. The player should be using both feet and in both directions. The player dribbles the ball and feints to go in one direction, then drags the ball back towards themselves, before touching the ball in the other direction to either dribble away or pass towards the other side. The move is often used when one side of the pitch is congested and this allows for the player to create space and switch the play.

 Coaching Points

1. Dribble the ball to one side, for example to the left.

2. Place your right foot on the ball and roll it towards yourself with the sole of the foot.

3. Open up your body to the right using your hip.

4. Take the ball with the inside (or outside) of the foot in the other direction and accelerate away.

5. This movement creates space for the player and the player and the net action can be to dribble, pass or even shoot at goal in some situations.

6. Awareness of clear space to run into
