Technical - Straight Line Passing (15 mins)
Key Factors
Plant non-kicking foot next to the ball, bend knee; head over the ball and kick the ball using either the inside of your foot or the laces (short/driven pass).
Receive ball using the inside of your foot - your first touch should be out in front in order for you to complete your next pass (touch in the direction of where you want to play the ball).
Decision making - when to pass (in order for footballs not to collide)
Communication - can you receive? which foot do you want to receive the ball on?
Detail of pass - weight, accuracy, type of pass.
Organisation
The set-up will be in the form of a square (5x5 yards). 4 players on each cone/spot. Working in pairs; partners will be facing each other in the square. GKs will pass the ball back and forth implementing each the side foot pass.
Progression - take each cone back 8 yards. (greater distance - driven pass).
