Ball Mastery- Without Opposition
Set up grids approximately 15x20 yrds. with cones spread throughout the grid. Place cones in the center closer together and cones on the outside further apart. Have players partner up with one ball per pair. Start by having players dribble quickly into the grid of cones and perform at least 3 skill moves (scissor fake, stepover, Cryuff, etc.) then explode quickly out of the cones and pass to his/her partner. Challenge players to peform skill moves without letting the ball hit any cones.

Organization:
Two 10 x 15 yard areas as shown. Two teams of 5 players, give them each a number 1-5. Each player has a ball.
Description:
The game is called American Gladiators. Coach calls a number 1-5 to designate the Gladiator, that player kicks his ball aside and enters the other team's area and tries to knock all of other team's balls out of the area. The team who lasts the longest wins that round (= 1 point). First team to X points wins.
Coaching Points:
Protect the ball
Awareness of space
Quick changes of direction to keep defenders moving and unbalanced
Progression:
P - When a player loses his ball he stays in the area and can support teammates by receiving passes. This takes the game from individual to team possession. Coaching points:
- When to pass and when to keep the ball
- Spread out and make the area the defenders have to cover large
