Objectives:
- develop passing and receiving abilities
- develop ability to weight different types of passes
Organization:
- set 20x20 boxes with no more than 6-8 players to ensure time on task (likely 2-4 boxes per age group)
- picture shows 2 different patterns, begin with number one (progress to pattern 2 if players are advanced enough). Ball is passed around outside and then through the square, players follow pass.
- Once round the square counts as one rotation.
- Players must receive behind the cone, outside the square
- Let players play at their own pace trying to be succesful in completing as many rotations without a mistake. Then...
Progressions:
1) add pressure - if there are 2 groups, first team to reach 10 consecutive passes without losing control gets a point. (Teams count their own points out loud).
2) See Pattern 2. Black line indicates pass and grey line indicates dribble, alternate pass and dribble to complete one rotation of the square. Again turn into races to make competitive.
Regression:
- If the level of the group is particuarly low players can work in 2's instead. Doing stationary passing (back and forth in pairs), coach can then add the challeneges e.g. first team to 8 passes etc.
- Coach can then build up difficulty as he sees fit. E.g. every 4th pass has to be one touch.
Note- Coach should always be holding two balls to help any group that loses the ball restart quickly

Objectives:
- develop ability to pass and receive under pressure
- develop understanding of moving for the ball to give options and passing lanes
Organization:
- open grid out from previous exercise
- 4v1/2 + 1 possession
- players should find a side on the area and try to keep ball away from defenders
- players count how many times they lose possession, after alloted time players see who wins, change defenders
Regression:
Use one defender, if too difficult restrict the defender to intercepting and blocking rather than tackling player on ball.
Note - Coach should always be holding two balls to help any group that loses the ball restart quickly
Coaching Points:
- movement to receive ball - if player in possession cannot see you they cannot make pass
- open body shape to increase passing options
- quality of pass to team mates

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Objectives:
- offer opportunity for players to translate session objectives into match phase
- attack using team mates to combine and create goal scoring opportunities
Organization:
- 3v3 4v4 5v5 + neutral (as central player) match phase
- add a neutral to add chance of success
Coaching Points:
- play with head up in possession
- dribble forwards when possible
- use team mates when they are in space
- movement without the ball to offer passing options

Warm Up (10 mins)
Objectives:
- provide ball manipulation and movement repetitions
bjectives:
- provide ball manipulation and movement repetitions
Warm up - Organisation:
The diagram demonstrates 2 ways to set up - ideally players are in pairs to ensure extra time on task. If the group is large it can be done in 4`s or 3`s with players swapping in and out.
- ensure outside cones are a different colour to the 2 on the inside
- players perform co-ordination exercise from red to blue and then dribble with the ball from blue to blue, stop the ball and then continue the co-ordination exercise
Ensure players get plenty of repetitions of each exercise and ball manipulation task.
*This is the same warm up as last week but with lots of flexibility. The coach can decide whether to keep it the same or:
-Add ladders
-Add relay races
-Mixture of both
Its important that if any changes they incorporated into the structure of the exercise.
