OBJECTIVE
45Mx25M field
12 players, 10 out players and 2 GK’s
2 zones 3v2+1 in each zone 3 attackers, 2 defenders and 1 keeper in each end zone.
Reds attack the yellow keeper, Blues attack the green keeper.
The end zones have a 3v2+1. If a Blue defender wins the ball they can either dribble into the attacking half or play a pass into their attacking teammates. That player can then enter the attacking zone to create a 4v2.
Once in the attacking zone the attacking team keeps possession and tries to create a scoring opportunity.
If out of bounds, players pass ball in, if a goal is scored starts from the keeper
RED 3 wins the ball, plays a pass to RED 5, RED 3 then joins the attacking grid to create a 4v2, with the other REDS, once a turnover is created RED defender (RED3), needs to track back.
Create shooting and finishing chances at a high rate
Quick transition from D to Attack
Create your own space for a shot or play the ball to a teammate for a shot
OTB create and deliver a shot, scan and se what other option is available
ATB make yourself available for a pass and shot
OFFTB pull defenders away from the ball, or if open be available for a pass
To start have defenders apply passive defending only cover space no attacking the ball. Can still get ball with bad pass etc, just not win in a 1v1. Coach can stop play and transfer possession if play is poor
PROGRESSION 1
Have Defenders apply more pressure, attack the ball and intercept
PROGRESSION 2
Play only a 3 v 2
