Warm-Up: Counter/Overloads (20 mins)

30x18 with 5 yard shooting zone.

- Player 1 dribbles to cone line, stops ball at line, then sprints around stick to defend player 2 (who has taken the ball where 1 left it off and is trying to combine or dribble to shooting zone/scoring on either goal).

- Attacking player must shoot in the shooting zone.

- Play for 2 mins and rotate roles- highest score wins (loser's owe something - push-ups, etc)

- Note: Inactive players can be doing intensive dynamic movements

2 Zone Counter Game (20 mins)

3 groups of 4

- All restarts with server playing into one of the 3 attackers (3v1 in first zone, 4v2 in second zone)

- 8 seconds to score

- Defenders are restricted to their respective zones (until they win the ball). On the regain (3v4), they look to break the server's line with a pass to resting teammate by server or on the dribble. ** Allows for attacking team to "Counter the Counter"

- Attackers look to exploit overloads and score on the large goal.

- Rotate after each ball (attackers - defenders - rest).

- Play for 2 mins - highest score wins (loser's owe something - push-ups, etc)

Counter vs. Back 4 (20 mins)

All restarts with server playing to back-4 or 2 middle players.

- Blue looks to possess (outsides = 1-touch) with 2 inside players

- Outside blues are restricted to their sides of area (until possession is lost).

- When red's win it, they go to goal (whole field becomes live)

- If Blues regain possession, they look to break servers line with pass or dribble

- Play for 2 mins and rotate roles- highest score wins (loser's owe something - push-ups, etc)

NOTE: this can be adjusted for back-3 (space on sides to exploit)

6v6 Conditioning Game (Overload Fitness) (30 mins)

6v6: Field: 55x33 Four 4.5-minute games with 2 mins rest between games

**Uninterupted Play: Coach within the run of play only. No stoppages. Keep balls available for restarts.

- Attack in a 2-1-2

- Defend in a 2-2-1

*** Assign one team to create a defensive block starting at the half line, and look to win it and counter. The other looks to break down the block to score and prevent counter.

*** Switch roles each game.

NOTE: Inactive players should be doing fitness specific to game demands on the side. Make sure to switch players in and out between each game and not during.

*** Make sure to lead team through a proper cool down to end training.
