  • Individual attacking every player a soccer ball to maximize the player w/ the ball 
  • Working to keep ball close to body and head up while taking small touches 
  • Trying to avoid losing the ball from the defender

Intro - Warm-up (5 mins)

Organization: Warm - up - 5mins 

  • 30x20 
  • All the players with a soccer ball Except 2 of them they will be running around trying not to get hit below the knee

Instructions:

  • Squirrels( Players no soccer balls) vs Dogs( Players w/ soccer balls)
  • Squirrels have 5 secs to get away from Dogs 
  • Squirrels will have 1min to avoid getting hit by Dogs 
  • Dogs will aim to hit squirrels below the knees to get points. If the Squirrels don't get hit they win 
  • Once the time is up the Squirrels are now going to be Dogs next round and the Dogs with the most # of hits becomes the new Squirrels

  • Not shooting from far WHY?  b/c miss and have to chase after ball

Main Activity (10 mins)

Organization: Activity Hungry Hungry Hippos -15mins

    • 30x20
    • 4 cones or pug goals on the corners
    • divide players into 4 teams on each corner ( give each a player a number1-4 on each team)
    • 11 soccer balls


Instructions: 

    • All the Hippos (4 Teams) are very hungry and are attempting to eat all the food (soccer balls) from the middle of the lake 
    • The Hippos start from their homes at the edge of the lake (pug goals) in each corner
    • Coach will call out numbers (1-4) and the Hippos will leave  in search for the food and bring it back to their home
    • The Hippos have to race and collect all the food from the middle of the lake before it runs out and bring it back to their homes
    • The Hippos (team ) with the most food wins when all the food in the middle is taken

Coaching Points/Questions:

    • Keep the food (soccer ball) close so no one steals it
    • Try to keep an eye out for the other hippos 
    • dribble and run with the ball back towards the picnic table (pug goal)

Regressions/Progressions:

  • P- Coach or player/s will try to steal the food from hippos

Conditioned Game (10 mins)

Organization: 2v2v2's 15mins 

  • 30x20
  • 3 teams (give each player a #1-4)
  • soccer balls 
  • 4 pug goals

Instructions:

  • Each team will be given numbers 1-4 all players start outside the field 
  • coach calls out two numbers those players enter the field from each team 
  • the team who can make 3 passes and score in any of the goals gets 5 points
  • once the ball goes out of play new players are called

  • R- Less Passes per team

Organization: Small-sided match - 10mins

  • 4 teams (divided into 2 fields)
  • soccer balls
  • 4 pug goals

Instructions:

  • match rules 
  • 3 passes to score 
  • Score in the goal to get points
