Phase 2 - pressure on the pass from 3-2 and 4-5
Introduce two players to place passive pressure on the pass from 3 and 4 out to 2 and 5. These players work for 1 minute in this position then rotate with another (ideally start with your 9/10 in this position first of all). The player pressuring must start beside the 6/8 and run as the ball is travelling towards the 3/4 and attempt to intercept pass to 2/5. Player must return to their starting position before pressing next pass
Players continue dynamic stretching on movment after pass to next cone
This phase continue for 6 minutes (i.e. 6 players will rotate through the 9/10 postion for passive pressure), again get groups to change sides after 3 minutes

Phase 3 - pressure on the pass from 3-2 and 4-5

These players work for 1 minute in this position then rotate with another (ideally start with your 7/11 in this position first of all). The player pressuring must start inside the 2/5 and run as the ball is travelling towards the 9 and attempt to intercept pass. Player must return to their starting position before pressing the next pass.
again this phase runs for 6 minutes with pressing players rotate after 1 minute, therefore 12 players will rotate through the 9, 10, 7 & 11 positions
groups again change sides after 3 minutes

Warm up Passing Practice (15 minutes) - Phase 1
Set up cones from top of 18 yd box
Postions 3 & 4 play pass out to respective 2 & 5, 2 & 5 receive on back foot, turn out and pass onto 9, 9 receives and passes into 6 or 8 (depending on side) who in turn receives and plays to the 3 or 4 position. Each player follows their pass
As players follow their pass they complete dynamic stretching including knees up, flicking bottom with heels, side steps, open/shut gate (for groins), skipping etc
complete for 2-3 minutes and then get groups to swap sides

spare 2-3 balls available behind 3/4
