A session made to focus on the technical part of passing and receiving and start intriducing the positional awareness of playing out of the back on a 9v9 formation 1-3-2-3

Set Up: Area 12x8 , 12-14 players, 3 colors teams - Play 2v2 +2
- 2-3 minutes rotations, 1 points teams gets it from target to target by combining.
- Players need to combine passes by getting the ball from one target and combine with each other while trying to get it to the other forward target.
- To score a point need to you get it from one target to the other target while combining in the middle.
When defending players regain ball immediately play to the outside targets and team that lose the ball becomes the defending team.
Players Objectives:
- Players need to identify Width and Depth.
- Need to spread out and create space when have the ball.
- Targets always Provide Depth. and lots of movements
- Create passing and receiving angles
- Received back foot to play forward
Defensive players stay compact, Deny passing option , Recover ball, Pressure cover
Coaching Points:
How to receive the ball ( Directional first touch)
How can you Breaking lines with pass/ First touch/ Or dribbling
Are you scanning the space finding your targets before receiving the ball.

Instructions: Progression from 2v2 +2
3-4 minutes rotations of the target teams, 1 points teams gets it from target to target by combining and making a total of 5-7 consecutive passes.
4v4 +4 or 4v4 +6. If +6 then two neutral players play in the middle as neutral (#6,#8)

To maintain the objectives from the first exercises.
Now look for combining with the target players to get width and depth and maintain positional awareness .
Keeping a 1-3-2-3 formation with the target players on the outside as potential numbers (2,3,7,11)

Warm up and Control Circle (30 mins)
Instructions: Let's use the 30 minutes on the sides when not on the field to focus on the technique aspects dribbling, passing, receiving , shooting.
We have to really focus on the mechanics and technique of the player.
Warm Up - Joggling and Dribbling with both left and right foot.
- Execute Sides moves ( Step over, scissors, Roll Over )
Control Circle: Two even groups. Players in the middle pass the ball to the players on the outside.
Variations:
Take Overs - Player A passes the ball to player B and runs to take their spot on the outside. Player B receives ball and dribbles and finds another open outside player to pass to.
Overlaps - Player A passes to player B then runs around Player B overlapping him into receiving pass. Player B receives ball from player A and pass into his overlapping Run
One/two - Player A passes to Player B and waits to receive the one two pass back. Then goes to find another open outside player.
Wall Pass - Player A passes to player B the moves to the side to receive for a wall pass as Player B. Player B receives the ball , passes back to player A and then move into space to receive a pass from A.
-Alternate left to and right foot passing and receiving options.

- Which part of the foot are the using to pass?
- What is your body position to receive the ball?
- Where do we look forward to pass the ball to our teammate?
- Where do we take our first touch?
- Can we make our first touch a directional touch?
