Organization:
-see diagram for set-up and equipment
-area approx. 20x30 yards (adapt for age/ability/numbers)
-endzones are 5 yards
-5v5/6v6 small-sided game
Instructions:
Players try to run with the ball during the game in an attempt to score a goal in the endzones (must stop the ball withcontrol in the endzone to be awarded a goal).
Free play following the laws of the game with the exception of restarts.
Coaching Points:
-look for opportunities to progress with the ball - why/when/where?
-strong first touch into available space to setup run
-use proper technique when running with the ball (long strides with long touches, run with pace)
-players in all positions should scan for opportunities/ triggers (open space or a channel has been created) to run with the ball, or to make a pass that will provide an opportunity for a teammate to run with the ball
-movement off the ball to create space
-communicate (e.g. tell teammates when they can turn and go).
-close dribbling in tight areas
-accelerate/rwb into open spaces
-use of both feet and all surfaces of feet
-quick decision-making - use speed or 1v1 skill

Organization:
-see diagram for set-up and equipment
-Set-up a 20x40 yard grid and divide the area into 15-10-15 yards as per diagram.
-10 cones need to create grids (see diagram)
-3 groups of 4 players assigned to a zone.
-Each outer zone the players have 1 ball between the group (2 balls in total).
-Players in the central zone have 1 ball each (4 balls in total).
Instructions:
Middle players dribble the ball inside the the central zone moving at all times.
Players in the outside zones pass the ball among the group while looking for a gap to appear in the central zone where they can run with the ball to the opposite zone. Example: player in left zone drives through space in middle to reach the right side of the zone.
Central players do not defend.
Rotate middle players every 2-3 minutes.
Progression:
Players in the middle can now look to steal the ball or to block players from pentrating or running with the ball, while still in possession of their ball (they defend by preventing space).
Scoring points: outside players socre an individual point by breaking through (running with the ball), and middle players score a team point by denying a player space to penetrate.
Coaching Points:
-strong/explosive first touch out of feet so you don't have to break running stride
-use of laces to push ball forward
-keep head up and use peripheral vision
-scan the field prior to making decision to run with the ball.
-don't touch ball too many times or will break rhythm.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
-20x40 area.
-6v6, extra balls around the perimeter.
-Team formation is 1-2-1-2 and 1-1-3-1.
Instructions:
Allow unrestricted play, following laws of the game with the exception of restarts.
Restarts: Kick-ins from the touch line, goal kicks from ends and after goals are scored at the midway point of the field.
Coaching Points:
Avoid intrusions, use coach overs as needed.
However, continue to look at the following:
-Look for opportunities to progress with the ball - why/when/where?
-Strong first touch into available space to setup run.
-Use proper technique when running with the ball (long strides with long touches, run with pace).
-Players in all positions should scan for opportunities/ triggers (open space or a channel has been created) to run with the ball, or to make a pass that will provide an opportunity for a teammate to run with the ball.
-Movement off the ball to create space.
-Communicate (e.g. tell teammates when they can turn and go).

Game ends when there are no attackers remaining.
Progression:
-Taggers can now steal the ball with their feet

-good 1st touch into space
-attack the space with speed; big touches out of feet
