Session Objective: To develop short passing
Organisation:
Drill A.Ball with each outside player.Ball played in to centre player who returns first touch,spins then receives ball from other end.Plays back first touch and so on.Rotate players.
Can develop by centre player receiving ball,turning,turning back again then playing back to serverSpins then receives from other side and repeat process.Rotate players.
Drill B.Drill A.One ball .Ball played in by 1 to centre player 2 who returns first touch,1 plays to 3.£ plays to 2 and gets return and so on.Can develop by centre player receiving ball,turning,turning back again then playing back to serverSpins then receives from other side and repeat process.Rotate players.

Drill C. 1 plays to 2 and moves to side to receive return pass.Plays back to 2 and moves other way to receive return pass.Then plays long pass to 3.3 plays to 2 and moves and receives return.Plays back to 2 and moves other way to receive return pass.Then plays long pass to 1.Rotate players after few minutes.
Drill D. 1 plays to 2 who plays return.1 plays to 3 then changes places with 2.3 plays to 1 who is now in middle and gets return.Plays long to 2 and takes place of 1 in middle and so on.Can develop by many variationssuch as repeating drill 3 but when ball played long to 3 take place of 2 and so on.

Session Objective: Improve Possession and Creating Space
One from each team on each side;rest in square .Size of square varied by age/numbers.
Organisation:
Basic Possession games.Using outside players.
a)Look to play to same team men on the sides.(A) Unlimited touches at first.Play and receive.
b)As above.Two touch only.
c)Unlimited touches.When you play to an outside man,take place.(B)
d)As above.Two touch only.Outside player must move ball into space quickly when receiving pass.
e)Unlimited touches.Now only a 1-2 will get man off line(C).If not on,encourage to keep possession.
f)As above.Two touch only.
Further variation:Have players of same team on top and bottom line;players of other team on left and right side lines.Extend area to square area.
g)One team plays across,unlimited touch can use end players.Other team plays up and down,unlimited touch,using end players.
h)As above.Two touch only.
i)One team plays across,unlimited touch can use end players.Other team plays up and down,unlimited touch,using end players.BUT...must go from one end to other,i.e. can not go back to same side.Working up/down or across right to left/left to right - Encourage ,receiving on half-turn and playing forward.shape to receive.
j)As above.Two touch only.
Then in across and up and down game,can add all variations as listed above ,i.e.taking place,1-2 to get out,vary numbers of touches etc.

Session Objective: To improve possession through movement before and after receiving ball.
Organisation:
Overload red team with two players unopposed in box in centre of pitch.Reds keep possession and after five players have touched ball play ball to goalkeeper inside box.Goalkeeper quickly delivers ball to outside.
Key Factors:
Know where space is to take ball.
Create space to receive(movement before).
Angle/body shape to receive/touch (movement with)
Quality of pass (and movement after).

Organisation:Two lines of players, balls set out in 3s in front of line.Balls numbered 1,2,3.Coach shouts out ball.Players perform variety of speed drills.
a)Ball number shouted out.Player sprints to ball and returns to line.Vary number called.Vary required number of shuttleruns.
b)As above but last run is past ball to spot twenty yards ahead.
c)Numbers shouted."1.3,2".player runs to1,moves sideways to 3,back across to 2, then sprints to end.vary numbers,repesat numbers etc different for each player.
d)a As c but player shuttles back to start after each ball.
