Keepaway to 4 target players (15 mins)

Keepaway in middle grid, but bioth teams can use the outside Neutral players (FB's).

Points are scored by passing into the target players. Once the team has passed into the target, they get a point by going the opposite way.

Coaching Points:

Drop in to create 2 CB's

Building triggers (pattern #6 drops in) (20 mins)

Building out triggers (#6 drops to create numbers up and no pressure on ball) Pattern

- #10 plays into #4 - as the pass is played, the "def." presses #4

- # 3 "shallows off" and receives from #4

- #6 drops in alongside #4

- #3 plays to #4 - #4 plays into #6

- #6 recieves and takes positive touch and passes to #2 who stops the ball in the box

Variation of pattern : Change pattern to play central pass to #10

Competition :

- 1st team to 6 points wins

- Alternate sides

Coaching points:

- Pressure on ball = FB "shallows off"

- #6 drops alongside #4 if pressure on ball

- Positive touch from CB into space

- FB pushes on if no pressure on ball

- FB receives to break line

Phase play (25 mins)

Phase play: Building in a 3-4-1

- The team of 7 try to score by passing into the 3 wide goals

- The defending team try to win the ball and score within 10 seconds

Vary the start points:

- Goal Kicks

- Ball into #6 and set to CB

- Free play

Coaching points:

- Movement based on pressure vs no pressure on the ball

- Can we create numbers up

- FB's - when to step vs "shallow"

- When / How to switch
