Continue technical development in 1v1, get to battle quickly
Angles of support in 3v3 channels to create opportunity to switch - support behind the ball from central channel
Build game can be simplified into quarter field: 7/11 check back to the ball, 9 point of the diamond, 6 protects box and is option for switch (in full game)
Full build - enter into zone 2 clean and calm

Instructions:
3v3, but players must stay in their channel.
Ball is passed to opponent and round begins, if point is scored or ball goes out of grid next group of 6 begin new round.
Points are now scored by passing ball through the gate.
Ball can be passed between channels to teammates, but players have to stay in their assigned channel.
Players can score on any gate, not just the one in their channel.
Coaching:
Encorage players to take on their opponents
Look up and see if they can score on a gate outside of their channel
Defensively players must close down opponents when the ball is in their channel (Immediate Pressure)
When ball is in another channel they have to stay between the ball and their gate so they don't give up easy goals (Cover)

Instructions:
Play starts with service from coach to either team.
3v3 to 3 goals, point is scored by dribbling through the gates.
Free movement within area
Coaching:
Encourage players to take on opponents, reward successful moves with additoinal points.
High energy and competition level.
Central player should be in a deeper position to help facilitate switching the ball.
Role of 3rd attacker, stay very wide from opposite side the ball is on to enable switch of play

Organization:
Quarter field
Players in positions for building from gk
2 defenders in each game - spare players on deck at midfield
Scoring gates at midfield
All soccer balls in the goal
Instructions:
GK passes ball to 2
On 2 touching ball, 2 defenders attempt to steal ball
Attacking team complete passes to score in eithe gate at midfield
Rotate defenders each game
Rotate attacking positions every few balls
Coaching:
Technical details from 4v0 rondo - check, receive, eyes up, overhit pass
Defenders can only take away 2 options out of 3 (not including GK option)
Calm on the ball, select the best option to maintain possession
Utilize GK to buy time, reset shape and build again - sets standard for using GK in full build out game where they can then switch the field (not the focus of this set up)
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Instructions:
Add 3rd defender
Limited to the shaded area - provides defensive cover/depth (game realism)
Counter principle is pressing - opportunity to set the defenders up for the press while also not over coaching that side. Focus on the build if we're trying to develop the build phase
Coaching:
Decision making after the press has been beaten
Find 9 - movement to support if 9 cannot turn
Create overload in shaded area - pass vs dribble
3rd defender can only cover 1 of the goals - decision making to score in easiest goal available
Utilize GK to buy time, reset shape and build again - sets standard for using GK in full build out game where they can then switch the field (not the focus of this set up)

Organization:
Half Field
3 goals at 2nd build out line (cones are fine)
Attacking team in shape
3 defenders - counter principle is pressing
All soccer balls with GK
Instructions:
Attacking attempt to build from GK and score in 1 of the 3 goals - must be a clear opportunity to score (no bulldozing)
Defenders work to win the ball and can score on main goal
Coaching:
Team Shape - starting positions of all players (7/11, high and wide)
Body orientation - face the way you want to play
Supporting angles from 3 players closest to the ball
- 7/11 work back to the ball to provide short, outside option
- 6 work slightly away from the ball, central option to switch play
- opposite side 7/11, stay high and wide for outlet when the 6 gets the ball
- GK in a position for negative ball and can switch play across the back
- 9 become point of the diamond, penetrating pass that breaks defensive line
Technical application
- quality of 1st touch
- quality of pass
- head up to observe potential 'what next' and 'what if'
1v1 Battle (15 mins)
Instructions:
Balls start on one side of channel, players from that side serve ball to opponent and immediately close down.
Ball must stay in channel or play is done and next pair begin.
To score ball must be stopped on line between gate after beating opponent.
Rotate side ball is played from. 2-3 minute rounds, groups keep track of score and losers rotate to next channel. After several rounds, add 1 point for players that beat their opponents using scissors or shoulder feint, or any creative move to beat opponent.
