Cones are placed about 20 yards apart and players are divided into groups of 2. The first player dribbles to the cone and performs the turning move the coach instructs them to do and then passes the ball back, then the next players does the same.
Moves to review:
a. inside chop
b. outside chop
c. pullback
d. twist off (with insides of foot)
3. twist off (with outsides of foot)
Success Criteria:
1. Moves done with attention to detail
2. players get head up before they cut
3. explode for 3 steps after move
progression: once groups are cleanly performing moves, can finish with a race and see them apply technique at speed. for example first group to 10 clean dribbles, turns, passes is the winner.

2 Players 1 ball.
Players will perform moves from earlier in a 360 degree setting and must be listening because when the coach says "find your partner" they will need to pass to their partner on the outside who then comes inside and performs various footskills while inside the grid
Coaching Points:
•What part of your foot should you use?
- Proper receiving technique: "check" mark, large surface touches the ball to receive and strike
•Is it better to stand still or be moving when you receive the ball? Moving. Good footwork to get in line with pass
•Purposeful first touch, we're not just stopping the ball. Away from pressure or in the direction we want to go.
•What are we preparing for?
- Dribble or Pass?
•Where can you move to get open?
To a space where there is a clear path between you and the ball
•What does it mean to be open?
No defenders between you and the ball

Use an approximate grid 35x25, where players are split into two teams. Both teams are defending two small goals but the attacking team has three players while defending team has two.
To score, players can pass or dribble through the gates.
Coaching Points:
- Possitive/agressive first touch to engage defender.
- Once defender is drawn to the ball, then look to pass.
- If defender takes away passing option, attacker must dribble.
- Good vision to recognize when to pass and when to dribble.
- Players off the ball must move to get open

Play 3v3 (four gates), but when the ball goes out, a goal is scored, or time goes to long – three new players for each team enter the field. Have the players initiate the game with a pass across to the
other team.
Coaching Points:
•Are you in a good position to support the player with the ball?
•Was your pass in front of the runner or did he have to slow down?
•What can you do to eliminate the defender?
•If you don’t get the pass right away can you find a new run to
make?
•What run or combination will work in this situation?
•Decision to pass or dribble (what’s the defender offering)
•Off the ball movement – how can I eliminate the defender with my
movement? Overlap, Diagonal run, Combination play/give & go
•Finding a space with a clear path to the ball
