Physical Yards in legs. |
Players in grid. 2/3 with ball in possession. 1/3 without. Players without ball go and ask for one from a player and dribble around the grid until asked by another player for the ball. Play pass and go and ask a different player for their ball.
Progression 1
Player changes direction of the ball with their first move into good space in the grid to avoid being asked for ball. (Attempt to stay in possession as long as possible).
Prog 2
Player 'breaks line' with first move on top of changing direction of the ball after receiving.
Prog 3
Player attempts 'no touch turn' when receiving. Players need to ensure;
- Check shoulder before receiving for opportunity to complete the move.
- Be in a position on the field to complete the move.
- Consider speed of the ball and edge of the field to be able to complete move (aware of surroundings).

Physical Yards in the legs. |
Pattern to receive for striker, wide player to finish.
Ball begins right side defender. Across to wide player, back to left side defender who hits it into striker's feet. Striker either beats defender with a first move or holds (wait for 2v1 overload run) and lays into path of wide player, who begins a run inside of striker when ball goes forward towards striker. Finish with a shot at goal.
Repeat from right sided players making run. First pass from left sided defender.
