Gear Changes:
Using large grid (30x40), have players dribble with head up, taking touches with laces and small touches because of small space. Have players demonstrate Gears 1-5 (first gear: light jog; second gear: jog; third gear: run; fourth gear: fast run; fifth gear: full-out sprint). Touches will get bigger as gears get higher, but concentrate on players not taking too big of touches. Eyes go to ball on touch, head comes back up and around between touches.
Have players manoeuvre their way around grid, shout out gear changes at random. Focus on quick acceleration and quick deceleration.
Start with preferred foot, progress to non-preferred foot.

Two-Goal 1v1:
Two groups divided into two lines of attackers and defenders with ball starting with defender between two 2-3-yard goals. Attacker (receiver) starts on cone facing defender 15-20 yards away.
Defender makes eye contact, puts name on pass and, using the inside of his/her foot, passes to attacker and then comes out to close down attacker. Attacker, treads grapes, receives ball using inside of foot with a positive first touch and attackers either goal. Attacker can use individual moves and turns to beat defender and run ball through cones.
Duration: 20 minutes.

Agility Reaction (15 mins)
Warm-up -- Agility Reaction:
Divide players into equal groups of 3-5 and start each group in a single-file line on a cone about 10-15 yards from large number of small cones spread out on floor. Use odd number of cones, more than enough so each players gets multiple turns to go.
On coach's command, players take turns sprinting to cones and retrieving a cone to bring back to group. When they return, the next player goes. Players go until all the cones are retrieved and the group with the most cones at the end wins. Losing groups perform burpees, knee jumps, mountain-climbs, etc.
Vary starting positions. Start players seated, on belly, on back, use hands or no hands, front roll to start, throw ball in air, roll and retrieve, dribble left, dribble right.
Duration: 15-20 minutes.
