ORGANISATION:
- 2 Team 9v9
- Only the False 9s can go in red lines
- 2 blocks of 5 minutes with blues attacking with a 2 minute break in between to discuss tactics to do better. Then the same for reds.
KEY FACTORS:
The main focus is on coaching the attacking teams goalkeeper, defenders and midfielders in successfully getting the ball into the False 9s feet
- The Objective is to get the ball into the feet of the False 9s
- Ball has to be played on the ground only up towards the False 9 Zone
- When False 9 receives ball quickly set an attack to try and score
- When blues lose the ball restart from blue attacking teams keeper
- When red defending team wins the ball in the red teams defensive zone they have 10 seconds to score a goal
Coaching points
- Movement and positioning. Blue defenders and midfielders have to be getting in space to receive the ball. Make the pitch big.
- Firm weighted passes to reach target
- vary breaking lines & going around
- False 9s moving and rotating picking up different positions all the time
- All attacking team players to receive ball on back foot half turn and ensure checking over shoulder
Then move into full game, take away the line and emphasise you want to see ball getting into false nines in that area and the ball being played on the ground.
