This session is designed to improve the players finishing techniques & skills when outside of the 18 yard box.
1. The technical warmup is designed to improve the players finishing techniques in 2 different scenarios.
2. The small side game (1v0 into 1v1 into 2v1) exercise puts the attackers into different situations to finish on goal.
3. The two-team competition game creates 2v1 attacking overload for the attacking team to exploit and score goals.

Organization:
Set up as shown. 2 playing areas to split players into two groups if possible.
Instructions:
1. The exercise starts with player A dribbling into the the finishing zone to finish on either counter goal (1v0). Once player A finishes on goal, player A must quickly transition to defend against player B inside the finishing zone to play a (1v1).
2 Player B drives in quickly into the finishing zone and looks to finish on the large goal once player A finish on the counter goal. Player B has to be very quick to arrive into the finishing zone and also be creative when looking to finish under pressure in a (1v1) situation from inside the finishing zone. If player A wins the ball, player A will look to score in the counter goal.
3. Once the second phase of play is over between player A and player B, player C looks to either combine with player A to play a (2v1) against player B to finish in either counter goal from inside of the finishing zone. Player C can also use player A as a decoy to go solo and finish on goal from inside the finishing zone. If player B wins the ball, player B looks to score in the counter goal.
4. Each phase of play is over once a goal is scored or the ball is gets out of the finishing zone during play.
5. Players rotates anti-clockwise (A-B-C-A) after each round of play.

1. Speed of execution.
2. Finishing on target while under pressure from the defender.
3. Change of pace with and without the ball.
4. Quality finish.
5. Quick transitions from attacking to defending.
Progression:
1. Two-team competition.

Organization:
Set up as shown. 2 playing areas to split players into two groups if possible.
Instructions:
1. The two team competition is a progression from the previous exercise as the players are split into two teams to compete against each other.
2. Blues will start off as the attacking team while the reds will be the defending team, on coach's call teams switches role to attack / defend the large / counter goals.
3. Every goal will count as one point and only the goals that are scored from inside the finishing zone will count.
Coaching Points (Attackers):
1. Speed of execution.
2. Finishing on target while under pressure from the defender.
3. Change of pace with and without the ball.
4. Quality finish.
5. Quick transitions from attacking to defending.
Coaching Points (Defenders):
1. Closing down shooting angles when defending.
2. Making play a 1v1 in an underload defending situation.
3. Tackle to win back possession.
4. Quick finishing.
Progression:
1. Exercise progresses to a 3-goal scrimmage with one team defending the large goal while the other defends the counter goals. Team switches sides on coach's call.

Technical Practice
Organization:
Set up as shown. 2 playing areas to split players into two groups if possible.
Instructions:
The players are placed in different starting positions at the beginning of the technical practice.
1. The technical practice starts with player A playing in an entry pass into player B, with player B receiving the ball on the half turn to spin around the mannequin and finish on goal from outside of the box.
2. Upon finishing on goal, player B quickly moves towards player C to set up player C who looks to play a quick give & go to finish on goal.
3. As soon as player C finishes on goal, players rotates quickly i.e (A-B-C-A), GKs rotates after every round.
Coaching Points:
1. Weight and accuracy of passes.
2. Quick turn around the mannequin.
3. Quality finishing, accuracy vs power.
4. Quick movements on and off the ball.
5. Choice of finish.
Progressions:
1. On coach's call, the set up is re-adjusted to experience finishing from different angles and opposite foot.
2. Small Sided Game (1v0-1v1-2v1).
