Objectives
1. To be able to defend 1v1 with patience and force attacker away from goal.
2. To understand how to press, cover and importance of balance player.
3. To be able to communicate in order to defend effectively as a unit while maintaining shape as a back 3.

Set Up
Cones 5 yards apart in grid that is 15x20 yards. Make multiple areas.
Rules and Conditions
Players in lines of 4 lines of alternating teams made of three people.
Players to move the ball along line until opportunity arises where they can play the ball through the oppposition line iinto their teammates in third row. Third row then has to play the ball back into their 1st line. If defenders win the ball, they have to do the same.

Set Up
Mark out 3 zones beginning in-line with penalty spot and approximately 18 yards in length.
Individual zones to be wider the further out they are from goal to create a funneling effect.
Have plenty of balls at the beginning of each zone to allow continuous play and thus high intensity.
Rules and Conditions
Players play 1v1.
Attacking player to try and dribble past defender to try and score. Can ONLY shoot once they have broken the last two cones and are in shaded area.
As soon as the attacker shoots or the play is dead, the next player in line starts to attack. Previous attacker becomes defender.

Force one way
Tackle with the front foot where possible.
- To allow quick recovery into good defensive posture.
- To set up quick attacking transition by poking ball behind attacker.
- To allow for better balance (tackling with back foot brings feet closer together and narrows stance, thus minimizes stable posture).

Players play 3v3. All players must stay inside their zones but can pass the ball to team mates in other zones. Attackers can only score once they get in behind defenders into shaded area. Defenders can track back into shaded area where they can leave their area.
Attacking team to become the defending team.
Progressions
1. Attackers can swap areas by leaving their own area but must swap with team mate to have 1 player in each area.
2. Remove lines. Play 4 Attackers against 3 Defenders.
