2v2 Defending
Set Up:
Set up a 15mx30m grid. Divide into two teams
Goals on each end line. Players on each end line and numbered
Procedure
Each group of players is numbered 1-4.
Coach will call out two numbers and the players from each team with those numbers compete 2v2. Defenders can win the ball and attack the opponent's goal.
Emphasis
1. Nearest defender to the ball pressures as the ball travels to the attacker.
2. Speed and angle of approach of the first defender. Show inside where cover is.
3. Slow down and show restraint.
4. Covering player - proper angle and distance.
5. Communication between defenders.
6. Proper cues to press - bad touch, bad pass, negative play, attacker facing own goal, etc.

Organization:
-30 x 20 field with 2 end zones at each end of 5yards
Instructions:
Teams line up as shown in the diagram. The Coach numbers players in each team. The Coach plays a ball into the field and calls a number. If player dribbles into their opponents endzone their team gets a point.
Emphasis:
-On the balls of feet; Keep ball under control; Head up and obeserve defender; Timing and distance of feint; Quality of disguise and execution of feint; Change speed and direction; Accelerate away lifting head up while keeping ball under control; Encourage players to dribble and take players on when space is available.

Procedure
If the ball goes out of the field players can make the decision to either pass or dribble in, Once the ball has been saved or gone out for a goal kick, the defensive team must retreat to the halfway line, Allow the players to play
