Organization:
- See diagram for setup.
- Cone markers for starting points
- Each passing player with a ball
- Use yellow padding in gym as goal
- Shooting players start at half
- Adjust attacking players starting point and shooting distance as needed
Instruction:
- Play once from right side and then once from left. Alternate sides each time. Then switch players to other line after about 5 - 7 minutes.
- Player passing the ball must give a good pass on the ground.
- Attacking player needs to check in and have a good touch and then shoot or shoot on first touch
- Player passing the ball then runs to attacking line on the same side and attacking player runs to back of passing line on same side.
Progression:
- Player A passes ball to player B, then player B passes back to player A, and player B makes a forward run. Player A then passes ball in front of player B who then shoots with a one-time shot.
Coaching Points:
- Good pass with inside of foot and in the centre of ball with head over the ball
- Attacker needs to meet the ball in front and not wait for it to come to feet. Good quality touch out to control the ball, if needed, and then shoot or shoot if ball is perfectly lined up.
- Shoot with laces or inside of foot
- Head down looking at the ball when striking the ball
- Foot follow through and land on kicking foot
