Organization: Quarter field at Pine Glen. Field divided into three vertical zones. Supply of balls outside each goal. Two teams of 6 players plus a goalkeeper. Two subs for each team.
Activity: Teams play 7v7 (including GK). Adjust as needed. Regular game rules apply. Only condition is that the attacking team must enter into one of the two wide channels in order to go to goal. There is not a permanent player in the wide channels but rather players are free to roam into the channel as needed. eg. look to create overloads or create open space.
Question: How can we utilize space along the flank effectively? How can movement in and out of the wide channels help us to break down / unbalance defenders?
Progression:
Attacking team must enter both wide channels.
Attacking team must occupy all three channels when in possession.
Coaching Points:
1. Dispersal in attack.
2. Mobility - off the ball movement. Where are the spaces?
3. Support - proper distances and angles.
4. Look to create overloads.
5. Communication

Organization: 50*40 field (Quarter field at PG). Supply of balls along the outside and in the goals.
Activity: 2 teams - Play 6v6 (including GK). LOTG apply, including retreat line. Each team plays 1-2-1-2. Perhaps some coaching over, but otherwise allow for free play. Award an extra point for every successful attempt (even if just wide) or shot on goal (even if saved). Teams manage substitutions.
Coaching Points: Reinforce key factors and objectives from the session.
