CG: Attacking in Wide Areas (20 mins)

- Normal game but with shaded areas in wide areas

- Only one player from each team can enter the area, allowing for a 1 vs. 1 situation

- 2 goals awarded from a goal which has come from a wide area

- Encourage players to take up a good position in a wide area to get on the ball; good movement, awareness

- Positivity on the ball, good first touch and attack the defender at pace

- Unbalance the defender by tricking or faking them

- Decision making; where is the space to attack? Outside, inside, turn and use the supporting player? Do we need to beat the defender to cross?

- When combining, when to make our forward movementts, what is effective?

- Allow for combinations to get round the defender with players outside the box. e.g. 1, 2 with front man

- Allow two attacking players into the shaded area. e.g. encourage the full back to overlap/underlap

- This set up could be used for switching play or the defensive role of a full back/dealing with attacks from wide
