Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Shooting: Team I

Main Theme (20 mins)

Organization:

1. 20x10 area, set up as shown

2. 2 goal keepers, 4 teams of even numbers

3. 1 ball with additional near goal

Instructions:

1. Players can only score from own defensive half

2. When defending one player can enter attacking half in attempt to win ball

3. if ball is won in attacking half it must be played back to defensive half for a shot on goal.

4. When goal a is scored, the defensive team is off and the team behind the goal steps on to play.

5. The goal keeper plays the ball to team and game resumes with new team.

6. Teams rotate when each goal has been scored or if two minutes has been played with no goals scored. 

Coaching Points:

1. Angle of approach is off center 

2. Head up to observe position of goal keeper 

3. Head down at the point of contact 

4. Contact foot – Lace 

5. Follow through landing on striking foot

R - Allowing target player score if ball is won in attacking half
