Positional Rondo
This session will be dependent on numbers and we can work in two separate groups if necessary. But the minimum players in a group will be 7, with a Midfield 3 and a forward on the attacking team and at least 3 defensive players on the defensive team.
In this practice a goal is scored if the attacking team make 15 passes or if they score by entering the goal zone and finishing into the mini goal.
Key Points:
- Forward first mentality (Passes, Runs, Body Shape).
- Movement to receive.
- Ball speed (When to play slow, when to play quick).
- Support play (When to run beyond and when to stay behind).
- Awareness of space.

Midfield Battle
2 defenders start behind one goal and are locked their (while their team is in possession) and one attacker starts behind the other goal and he is locked into his area. Defensive team have 3 midfielders and a goalkeeper defending a small sided goal. Objective for the attacking team is to create and opening via the midfielders who should look to play forwards into their attacker and receive a set back ready to finish. If the defensive team win the ball back they can go and score in the open net on the halfway line as soon as possible. This is where the defenders who are locked in their zone should recognise the transition and should step into to try and stop the defensive teams counter attack.
Key Points:
- Forward first mentality (Passes, Runs, Body Shape).
- Movement to receive.
- Ball speed (When to play slow, when to play quick).
- Support play (When to run beyond and when to stay behind).
- Awareness of space.
