Goals:
Define a style of play in progressing from the midfield third into the attacking third vs a team that is looking to sit deep and absorb pressure
Primary Learning Outcomes:
-Recognition of defending teams depth, and compaction to necessitate
-Movement of players off ball to create passing lanes and ability to be played into higher areas of the field (unmarks-support, breaks, open spaces)
-Support underneath of the ball when in possession
-Looking to isolate defenders to create numbers up situations
Secondary Learning Outcomes
Counter pressing when possession has been lost through transitional mentality and team shape when in possession of the ball.

Organization:
6v6 inside of the playing grid
4 7x7 boxes in the corners of the playing grid
Instructions:
Teams score a point by playing a lead pass into the box that a player is able to run onto.
If ball is played into a player that is already in the box once the ball has been passed no point is rewarded but possession is still retained.
Possession is retained after a point is scored.
Coaching Points:
-Recognition of the cues when is the moment to switch point (concentration of defense, numbers up vs numbers down)
-Support from players off the ball
-Visual cues for the the players not in possession tuck in vs provide width and height
-If a longer pass is played can we now begin to provide support underneath
Progressions:
Regressions: 1 pt for 10 consecutive passes in the event that teams not in possession drop off to defend the boxes or the players are beginning to force play
Progression-To receive a point, player receiving a point must play pass to any teammate 1st time

Organization:
2 server/targets
Zone 1- 1 Holding Mid
Zone 2= 3v3
Zone 3= 3 (def) vs 1
Instructions:
Ball is played into the holding mid by one of the server/target players
Attacking:
Look to penetrate by playing each grid, once ball is played into final zone ball can be shot or a point if they can play a player in behind the opposition and score. If ball is playing into space behind, 2 players can look to score against 1 trailing defender.
Defending team: Can look to send 1 player into any box to help to defend the ball, but only one player can do this at any given time. If ball is played in behind final zone, 1 trailing defender can enter box. Defense scores point by playing into 1 of the target players.
Neutral players can be used by attacking team
Coaching Points:
-Creation of width/depth/support
-Looking to unbalance defense, and draw them out through possession (with specific attention on if midfield looks to press onto 6, ability to play through lines)
-Ability of the CM to work off the back shoulder of opposite mid
-Movement of 9 to drop into midfield- with 7/11 looking to create length in zone 3 (third man run
-Look to play through lines (penetrate)
Progressions:
-1 of the servers can join in with the attacking team to create numbers up situations in zones 2 and 3

Passing Pattern
Organization:
Setup as shown with a player on each of the cone, overflow players on the bottom of the "Y" with balls
Instructions
Players setup in the "Y" Shape as shown, and play the pattern as shown . Player who receives the ball last, dribbles to the start and the sequence is continued.
Players move to next position after the pass
Coaching Points:
-Movement to create angle to receive pass
-1st touch out of feet
-Look to "catch" the ball lessening the distance away from body to play with the next action. (HALF TOUCH)
-Weight of pass to allow the player to play with their 1st touch when combining
-Timing Cues/Weight of pass to allow the player to catch the ball in full stride and not have to check their run
