Can also bring GKs into play at base if required

Transition

Once the defending team continually hit the target man in the box he then plays for the attacking team.

He begins play by passing wide or into a CM player.

This is the trigger for the RED team to get into a defensive shape

CB tight together

FB tucked in - aim for no more than 10 yards between players

CM SHIELD - to be set up in front of back 4 but between the lines

By-line angled off due to no Blue FB and Red WMF

BLUE GK 2-3-3

The set up is slightly different if the back four are facing a front three.

No. 2 will mark LM (Goal side)

2 CBs (4 and 5) will deal with the CF

No. 3 will move over to No5s position, being aware of the run from RM and trying to cut out a pass

No.8 (acting as part of the two man MF) will go to close the LM who has the ball.

No. 6 will move over into 8s position, cutting out the pass to the CF or the long pass to the RM

No. 10 gets goal side/ball side of the CM

No. 7 moves into a position to cut out the reverse pass to CB
